Staunton, Va.- The Christendom College Crusaders traveled to face off against opponent Mary Baldwin University on Saturday afternoon but came up short in a 0–6 defeat.
The Squirrels of Mary Baldwin came out strong from the opening whistle, applying consistent pressure and controlling possession for much of the match. They found the back of the net early in the first half and didn't let up, taking a 4–0 lead into halftime.
Despite the scoreline, the Crusaders showed moments of defensive resilience and hustle. Goalkeeper Maria Blank recorded multiple saves, facing a barrage of shots from the Mary Baldwin offense. In the midfield, senior Megan Lovar, sophomore Maddie Lee, and sophomore Claire Santschi worked hard to disrupt passing lanes and push the ball forward when opportunities arose.
Mary Baldwin's pace and precision proved too much for Christendom to contain in the second half, as they added two more goals to close out the match. The Crusaders continued to battle to the final whistle but were ultimately unable to get on the scoreboard.
Up Next: The team returns to action on Homecoming Weekend for a game against PSU Schuykill on October 4 at 1:00 pm.
