Cross Country Runs Strong in Dutchmen Invitational
Annville, Pa. – The Christendom College cross country teams turned in strong performances at the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen Invitational, competing against a deep field that included large NCAA programs, with even a Division I squad in attendance.
The women's team placed 11th overall out of 18 programs, finishing ahead of every Penn State satellite campus in the field, including other USCAA programs. The Lady Crusaders were led by a trio of personal records, with Lily Bettcher and Myri Parsons lowering their times and Jadzia Hamm improving her mark on the same course from last season by 21 seconds.
On the men's side, Joseph Beerer and Robert Wright both completed their first-ever collegiate 8k on the fast, competitive course. Thomas Cahill added to the team's momentum with a personal-best performance on the Lebanon Valley course, improving on his effort from two seasons ago. Despite racing with just four competitors, the Crusaders held their own in the field and finished ahead of other USCAA Competitors
The meet provided a valuable early-season test for both squads as they continue to build toward championship competition later this fall.
