Christine McLaughlin Named Christendom Head Women’s Soccer Coach
FRONT ROYAL, Va. — Christendom Athletics has announced the hiring of Christine McGlaughlin as the next head coach of the Lady Crusaders women's soccer program.
A former standout student-athlete for the Lady Crusaders, McLaughlin returns to Christendom after building a strong foundation in the coaching ranks and competing at multiple levels of collegiate and semi-professional soccer. Her appointment marks a homecoming for one of the most decorated players in the program's history.
McLaughlin most recently served as a head coach with the Virginia Soccer Association, where she quickly established a reputation for player development and program improvement. During her time with VSA, she led teams with previous sub-.500 records to an impressive 85 percent winning percentage at the club level. She also earned her Grassroots Coaching Certification during the 2022-23 season.
Before entering coaching, McLaughlin enjoyed a decorated playing career highlighted by her success at Christendom. A team captain for the Lady Crusaders during the 2020-21 season, she was a two-time USCAA First Team All-American in 2019 and 2021 and earned USCAA Academic All-American honors in 2021. She was also twice named USCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week during her collegiate career.
McLaughlin's playing experience spans several competitive levels, including time with the Virginia Soccer Association club program, Benedictine College, and Northern Virginia Football Club of the ULS W League. Her diverse playing background provides valuable experience and perspective that she now brings to the sidelines as a coach.
"Christine's experience as both a player and coach, combined with her understanding of Christendom College and our mission, makes her the perfect choice to lead our women's soccer program," said Athletic Director Patrick Quest. "She has demonstrated the ability to develop players, build competitive teams, and foster a culture of excellence. We are excited to welcome her back to Christendom Athletics and look forward to the future of Christendom Women's Soccer under her leadership."
