Front Royal, Va.- The Christendom College women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss on Saturday afternoon to Johnson & Wales University.
Johnson & Wales set the tone early, scoring within the opening 15 minutes to take a 1-0 lead. Christendom responded with solid stretches of possession and a few promising runs forward but struggled to break down a well-organized Wildcats defense.
The visitors doubled their lead late in the first half, capitalizing on a defensive miscue to go up 2-0 heading into the break.
In the second half, Christendom continued to battle, with standout defensive efforts keeping the match within reach. However, a third Johnson & Wales goal midway through the half put the game out of reach.
Despite the scoreline, the Crusaders showed resilience and flashes of quality, especially in midfield play and team cohesion.
Up Next: Christendom will look to regroup and bounce back as they head into the final stretch of the regular season, with key matchups still ahead in their USCAA campaign. The Lady Crusaders take on ranked opponent PSU Mont Alto on October 16 for Senior Day.
