York, Pa. — The Christendom College men's soccer team fell 1–0 on the road to Penn State York on Wednesday evening.
York struck early, capitalizing on a counterattack in the 5th minute to take the lead. The Crusaders nearly pulled level before halftime when Luke Vander Woude rattled a shot off the post. In the second half, John Hand came closest to equalizing with a powerful header, but the York goalkeeper made a goal-line save to preserve the advantage.
Despite sustained pressure from Christendom, the hosts held on for the clean sheet.
Up Next: With the loss, the Crusaders move to 3–5–1 on the season. Christendom will return home for Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, October 4, when they host Penn State Greater Allegheny.
