Front Royal, Va. — The Christendom College men's soccer team delivered a thrilling finish on Tuesday, defeating Penn State Mont Alto 1–0 on a goal with just six seconds left on the clock.
The Crusaders controlled much of the match offensively, recording 24 shots — 11 in the first half and 13 in the second. Still, the game remained scoreless heading into the final minute. With 45 seconds remaining, Mont Alto was awarded a penalty kick, but Christendom goalkeeper Lucas Boada came up with a clutch save to keep the game level.
The Crusaders immediately countered, earning a corner kick with 20 seconds to play. After a scramble in the box, senior Charlie Wyckoff buried the decisive goal with six seconds left, sending the home crowd into celebration and securing the dramatic victory.
Up Next: With the result, Christendom improves to 3–3–1 on the season. The Crusaders will next travel to face Penn State New Kensington on Saturday, September 27.
