The Christendom College men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 2–1 decision to national runner-up Central Penn on Saturday in their second match of the season.
The Crusaders held strong through most of the opening half before conceding with just six seconds remaining, sending them into the break trailing 1–0. Christendom responded quickly after halftime, as striker Justin Zappe leveled the score in the 49th minute.
Central Penn regained the advantage only minutes later, capitalizing on a counter to make it 2–1. Despite several late pushes, the Crusaders were unable to find the equalizer.
With the result, Christendom moves to 1–1 on the season and 0-1 in ESAC play.
Up Next: They will look to bounce back when they face Williamson on Saturday, September 6.
