CHRISTENDOM CROSS COUNTRY
Coach Michael Stanislaw-
Coach Stanislaw comes to Christendom with an extensive background in both Catholic youth ministry and running/coaching experience. He grew up in near Pittsburgh, PA. From his parents and family, he learned the value of a strong Catholic faith identity and the positive attributes that come from the discipline of distance running.
He was involved in running as a child, competing in local 10K's in the 70's with his father and siblings and knew at a young age he wanted to be involved with the sport for the remainder of his life.
While at the University of Pittsburgh, Coach Stanislaw tried out for Cross Country as a walk on and made the team his junior year, and again ran at California University of PA while earning his Masters in Education.
He has ran several marathons, half marathons, countless 10K's, and 5K's.
He worked as a Catholic Youth Minister for 11 years in the Arlington, Wheeling-Charleston, and Pittsburgh Dioceses respectively, and also taught special education for 5 years before opening On The Run Sports Race Event Management, a local running shop and race management company in Warrenton, Va.
Coach Stanislaw became a certified Distance Coach through the ASEP- American Sports Education Program & RRCA- Road Runners Club of America. He has coached Track and Field/Cross Country 20+ yrs at schools in PA (South Allegheny), and VA (Fauquier, Highland School and Kettlerun), producing State qualifiers and medalists at regular intervals as well as a VHSL State Cross Country Champion in XC while teaching at Fauquier High School.
He is humbled and honored to accept the challenge at Christendom College, working to continue to develop the Cross Country program, as well as being able to share his faith & love for Christ and the One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church with the student athletes at the campus. Goooooo Crusuders!
