The Crusaders hit the road this week, with the Crusader soccer team and Lady Crusader volleyball team both pulling off impressive victories.
The Crusaders won 2-1 in double overtime.
Crusader soccer, riding a 3-3 record into Wednesday night, traveled to play Marymount University. An early lead for the Saints evaporated late in the 2nd half, with James Foeckler tying the game in the 69th minute and sending the match into overtime. The Saints controlled the ball for much of the first overtime, but keeper Carlos Pardo shutdown their offense, giving Peter Day the opportunity to be a hero and score in double overtime to win the match.
The Lady Crusaders won in straight sets, 3-0.
Lady Crusader volleyball, after starting the year strong, went into Tuesday night with a 2-5 record, including five straight losses. Looking for some redemption, the Lady Crusaders brought their best game against Washington Adventist University. Outplaying the Shock at every turn, they took the game in straight sets 3-0, snapping their losing streak and giving the players a much-needed confidence boost.
